Get Ready For Valentine's Day Date Night

Get Ready For Valentine's Day Date Night

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so it's time to start preparing for Date Night.

What is Valentine's Day Date Night without the perfect tan? After following our four-day beauty prep plan, you will have a radiant, glowing tan. No matter what you're up to on Valentine's Day, you'll want a maximum glow. Give yourself some love in the lead-up to the big date night.

Face Matters: 4 Days Until Valentine's Day

Four sleeps until the big day, so let's get cracking. Bright, glowing skin is a must. Take care of your skin at home with a mini facial, or book an appointment at your favourite salon. Stay hydrated and glowing with summerbrons. Glow Drops or summerbrons. Face Mist. Both use Hyaluronic Acid to help maintain moisture and build a natural, gradual glow.

Hair Removal: 3 Days Until Valentine's Day

Body hair is a personal preference, but a smooth, silky surface will give your tan a better surface to adhere to. You can get on top of that hair growth by booking yourself in for a good old fashion wax or schedule some time to shave the day before.

Prep For Your Glow: 2 Days Until Valentine's Day

Preparation is critical when it comes to tanning. If not done, it can result in streaks and uneven fading of colour. Put in the effort before your tan, and you'll reap the rewards during your self- tan's lifecycle.

To prep exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! This will remove dead skin cells and create a smooth and uniform surface on the skin for the tan to be applied to. This will, in turn, result in an even golden colour. Steer clear of exfoliators that contain oils, as these will only act as a film on the skin. While excellent for locking in moisture isn't ideal for tanning.

Get Your Glow On: 1 Day Until Valentine's

  1. Dry your skin. Drying your skin helps the tanning mousse spread evenly.
  2. Apply in sections. Apply the self-tanner in areas (such as the arms, then legs, followed by the torso). Massage the self-tanner into your skin in a circular motion.
  3. Wash your hands after each section. You will avoid discoloured palms by washing your hands with soap and water after applying self-tanner to each area of your body.
  4. Blend at your wrists and ankles. For a natural look, you need to lightly extend the tanner from your wrists to your hands and from your ankles to your feet.
  5. Blend over your joints. Dilute the self-tanner on the knees, ankles and elbows because these areas tend to absorb more self-tanner than the rest of the skin. To dilute, lightly rub with a blending brush or apply a thin layer of lotion on top of the self-tanner.
  6. Give your skin time to dry. Wait at least 10 minutes before getting dressed. Until you are done marinating, it is advisable to wear loose clothing and try to avoid sweating.

Date Night: Day 0

It's the big day! A couple hours before heading out, turn up the tunes, grab a glass of wine, and start getting ready. When you shower, be sure to pat dry. The last thing you want is for your bronzed goddess look to rub off or turn patchy after all the effort you've put into it. No vigorous towel rubbing allowed.

Once you finish your makeup and get dressed, you're ready. Remember to relax and enjoy this special time.

Have a great night!
